Crime and Punishment by Fyodor Dostoevsky
Greetings dear readers,
In
light of the intense reading of this interesting book, let's review its
main themes in a reflective manner, that is, by looking inside the
human being, analyzing the personal behavior of the main characters
here, Rodion Raskolnikov, Sofia Semyonovna Marmeladove and Porfiry
Petrovich, on an ethical level in our society.
It
is actually a psychological profile of the whole humanity, especially
as it relates to crime and punishment experiences and the consequences
of the cost of life economical pressure.
I
consider that the origin of all evil things or bad acts comes from
envy. On one hand, we are living in a material world where money rules.
It's sad, but it's true. The consequences of our actions are directly
related to the way of the corrupt political system operates the gap and
also the established social morality rules.
There
is a huge difference in our own social levels. There is a lot of
wealth, but we also have extreme poverty, social inequality, and a lack
of opportunities, specially for the young.
Education
and family values are critical and sensitive themes of human nature.
The combination of faith, conviction, reason, ego, pride, reflection,
selfishness, kindness, empathy, the search for forgiveness and
happiness.
This whole set of characteristics shapes our instinctive response to certain situations of pressure and demands in our lives.
My
final conclusion is to learn how to control our deep emotions in the
face of all the leves of social or economical pressure that we face.
Best Regards,
Alexander Bonilla Silva
