Educating yourself about Critical Thinking and Media Literacy

Today we will speak about two very serious topics. Media Literacy and Critical Thinking, as a result of the responsability for self educate in these digital times, especially when social media plataforms have completely change how we receive the information.

Not only the virtual information or the news that we receive but the way that we communicate with one another, or express our ideas or opinions in the digital age. 

 We need to take care regarding the complex world of these "Fake News" or "Disinformation Campaigns" that spreads rapidly in these times. We need to defend the tolerance, diversity, viewpoints and respect it because of the true power of the social media information as a catalyst for the good of mankind.

Critical Thinking is the proper ability to objectively analyze and evaluate all the information, arguments and claims, considering different perpectives and making informed judgments based on proven facts. 

It is essencial to develop a self critical eye towards all the type of media outlets that we consume, always questioning about the credibility of the sources considering the impact of Media on our family and society. Individuals can affectively discern between reliable information and the concept of misinformation.

It is also relevant to evaluate and interpret all the information that is presented because it can help to prevent the spread of misinformation and to stop its serious consequences, such as spreading false rumors about health or any kind of sensitive situation.

Critical Thinking is a total key component of news media literacy, as it allows people to assess about the accuracy and credibility of news sources by questioning assumptions, evaluating evidence and considering different perspectives of opinions and ideas.

Following these rules can create a very powerful tool of education on the critical thinking matter which allow individuals to become well informed and diserning about what are the sources of these news they consume everyday.
